Csaba has come a long way since joining atWork Australia 12 months ago. His confidence has improved greatly, his pain level has decreased dramatically, his quality of life has improved and he is now working again in a role he enjoys.

Csaba had been unemployed for four years and prior to that he was caring for his ex-partner for 16 years. He has a limited education and employment history and has spent most of his life helping others. He lives with depression and a bulging disc, sciatica and hernia due to a workplace injury. Prior to joining atWork Australia, Csaba’s motivation and mood were low and his only enjoyment was trying to keep fit and going to the gym.

Last year, focusing on himself and his health became important for Csaba. He was looking for a career change and assistance in getting into the security industry, as he felt that this would be a job he could do and enjoy. He was anticipating that working would help him with his social anxiety, and getting out in the community to help others.

At atWork Australia’s Shepparton office, Csaba was introduced to his Job Coach Brad who provided him with tips and advice on how to manage the level of pain he was in. This included remedial and deep tissue massages, using a TENS machine, as well as exercising and hydrotherapy. Csaba’s pain level was about 7-8 when he met Brad and sits now at 2-3, which is a level he can manage. atWork Australia enrolled Csaba in a security course and assisted with work clothing. He also obtained his fingerprints and security license.

Csaba was excited and jumping for joy when he was offered a role as a security guard with a local security company. Csaba says: “I couldn’t believe it when I got a job. It has been a long journey to get back into employment.”

Dhillon, his manager, started UR Safe Security in 2019. Prior to owning his company, Dhillon had worked in the security industry for 12 years in the Melbourne, Goulburn Valley and Northern Victoria areas. Dhillon came to meet Brad at the Shepparton atWork Australia office in 2020 and was looking for assistance with finding suitable security guards and crowd controllers. So far Dhillon has employed three clients from atWork Australia.

Dhillon says: “I like to help people into employment and train them up to become professional security guards and crowd controllers, keeping jobs local and businesses safe. “

Csaba describes Brad as a champion. He feels very fortunate for having been introduced to Brad as his Job Coach and says: “I couldn’t have done it all without Brad”. Csaba said that Brad was always there to help him when he needed assistance, even in between appointments. Csaba says: “My mental and physical health has improved significantly, and I feel keen and positive that I can achieve something in my life.”

Csaba highly recommends atWork Australia to anyone that needs support and health.

Brad says: “It has been a pleasure working with Csaba and helping him improve his life, including his mental and physical health, and assisting him with gaining sustainable employment in a job that he enjoys doing.”
