On the brink of giving up on his employment journey, 53-year-old Workforce Australia client, Jarrod, entered the atWork Australia office in Richmond, SA. He was searching for someone to listen, support and believe in him.
Jarrod is faced with a variety of challenges that, in turn, affect his physical confidence and mental stability. So, ensuring that he was partnered with someone with an open mind and caring heart was essential.
He found exactly what he was looking for within his Job Coach, Helen. This was clear from their first appointment together.
“I assured him that we genuinely care and will listen to him, and that any changes and decisions to his journey are entirely in his control, we are here to support not make his life difficult,” Helen states.
Off the back of their conversations, a tailored job plan was created to ensure that he was able to meet his goals. This plan included a variety of different activities, to not only boost his employability, but his confidence and mental health too.
These activities included our in-house Wellness Services, as well as an online course in Supply Chain Operations, after highlighting an interest in the field.
atWork Australia was able to financially support Jarrod in purchasing a laptop for him to complete his course.
Throughout Jarrod’s journey, Helen was always there to support him whether that be positive encouragement, mindset check-ins or job search support. He states;
