Lisette (50) from Sunbury, Victoria, has always been a hard-working individual, with most of her previous work experiences being in administration and customer service, working for banks and larger organisations.
Due to caring responsibilities and living with a health condition, Lisette became unemployed and faced challenges with returning into the workforce. Lisette has been with the jobactive program since 2015 and atWork Australia since April 2019. Lisette faced various barriers towards employment including being long term unemployed, a lack of confidence and being able to commit to part-time work only due to her caring responsibilities.
Earlier this year, Lisette successfully gained part-time employment in hospitality, however due to Covid-19 restrictions and lockdowns, she lost this position and became unemployed again.
Lisette was introduced to her Job Coach, Vilda, in early 2021 and they have developed a good relationship. Vilda was able to recognise Lisette’s abilities and strengths, and suggested to her a variety of roles in administration, customer service and hospitality.
Vilda also recommended further upskilling and training to Lisette, but while investigating this further, Lisette gained employment at a local warehouse as a pick packer, with Vilda’s assistance.
Lisette’s journey to employment was challenging due to ongoing Covid-19 restrictions in Victoria. With Vilda by her side, Lisette was able to receive tailored support and improve her confidence to find paid employment.
Vilda supported Lisette financially by providing her with the right work clothes.
Lisette was grateful and thankful when she found out that she had secured employment and said “I appreciate the help and support to find employment.”
