Workforce Australia client, Jordon, nervously entered the atWork Australia office in Peterborough looking to make a change in his life after, spending the past six years unemployed.
He started working with Job Coach, Chantelle who got to know him during the first appointment.
Due to Jordon’s anxiety and low self-confidence, he struggled to open up. Chantelle was patient and shared all the ways we can support him throughout his journey, including the Local Jobs Program.
This program would assist Jordon in gaining valuable experience as well as helping him meet the PBAS requirements.
Jordon was enrolled and through the program Jordon’s passion for the hospitality industry was ignited.
The program gave Jordon the confidence in his ability to work again and in turn helped with his anxiety.
With confidence at an all-time high, Chantelle enrolled Jordon in our in-house Powered by Positivum Hospitality training, to develop his micro-credentials.
It was during this time that Chantelle and Jordon began to discuss with the host of the Local Jobs Program about Jordon transitioning into paid employment.
With great success, Jordon is now working as a Bakers Assistant/Pizza Maker.
When looking back on Jordon’s employment journey, Chantelle says that;
“Jordon is unrecognisable from the day I first met him. His self-esteem and confidence have been completely transformed.”
Not only is he loving his job, but he positively contributes to the overall business ideas and needs of the community. As a result of his ideas, the bakehouse has now also incorporated a pop-up pizza bar for two nights a week, which is loved within the community.
