Kevin experienced a motorcycle accident, which led to a long and tough recovery. After two years, Kevin was ready to get back to work and connected with atWork Australia’s Margate office for support.
Here he met Job Coach Houston and Employer Engagement Consultant Kaitlin who supported Kevin on his journey back to employment.
Before his accident, Kevin worked at a local TAB, and had also previous experience in construction. He was excited to look at new opportunities.
The atWork Australia team referred Kevin to our Jobs Now program where he learned how the landscape of job searching had changed since he last had to look for work. He was also supported to update his resume and cover letter.
Kevin then started applying for roles. When he was successful gaining an interview, Kaitlin and Houston practiced with Kevin and helped him put his best foot forward.
Kaitlin also touched base with local employers to see what kinds of opportunities were available that might suit Kevin.
Kevin then landed a full-time role as a traffic control officer, and the team then supported him to purchase work related clothing ready for his first shift.
