Lisa came to atWork Australia as a skilled and very capable worker in Aged Care, with many years’ experience. She was motivated and positive, however lacked some confidence due to her depression.
Lisa met her Job Coach Pauline and came with a great attitude towards getting back into what she enjoyed doing, working in Aged Care. “Lisa knew what she was looking for in work and was determined to get back to work as quickly as she could,” Pauline said.
Pauline quickly helped organise for Lisa to complete a First Aid Training course to update her certification, helping Pauline find her next job.
Soon after, Lisa was interviewing for her next role as a Care Service Employee in the Aged Care Industry. It all moved really quickly, the employer offered Lisa the role, and Lisa accepted very quickly. “Lisa was really happy and excited when she received news that she had been successful in her interview. I have really enjoyed working with Lisa, she came into all appointments determined and eager to get back into work,” Pauline said.
Lisa’s determination and courage, matched with Pauline’s support meant that Lisa was unemployed for only one month. She is back in the workforce, back to making a difference to the elderly’s lives working in Aged Care, and she has her purpose back – all of which also helps her manage her depression.
Lisa is grateful for Pauline’s help too, “The team from atWork Australia have really gone above and beyond for me. I’m feeling much happier and thoroughly enjoying getting back into work,” Lisa said.
