Luke (40) has been living with major depression and fatigue, in addition, he experienced other personal issues with his family and housing instability.
Unemployed and determined to find employment, despite all his efforts, Luke was unfortunately unsuccessful in securing a job on his own. It was at this point, Luke registered with the atWork Australia Narellan, (NSW) office for guidance with his job seeking and assistance in managing his barriers to be ready for employment.
Luke was introduced to his Job Coach Nicole. Together, both Nicole and Luke started to review and explore his strengths for employment and work out suitable options based on his past employment and areas of interest.
Through the process of reviewing Luke’s employment history, Luke mentioned he had a forklift license and that this was an area he would like to pursue. Nicole and Luke started to focus further on his capabilities, all while addressing and assisting with managing his health condition.
Nicole recalls: “From the time that I started working with Luke, he has been determined to get into long-lasting employment that he enjoyed”.
With the assistance of his Job Coach Nicole, Luke was introduced to our Employment Engagement Consultants to match his skill set to a suitable and supportive employer.
Luke was extremely happy with the service provided throughout the program and is now employed working in a warehouse as a General Labourer.
