Marko from Teneriffe QLD was working as a part-time bookkeeper for his father’s plumbing business when he decided it was time to move onto something new.
With low expectations of finding employment due to a mental health condition, Marko turned to atWork Australia Fortitude Valley to boost his confidence.
His Job Coach Callan found Marko had the right attitude, but personally felt weighed down by his existing mental health condition.
Together, they worked on building Marko’s confidence through each aspect of the job-finding process from identifying suitable roles, applying for jobs, to preparing him for interviews.
It was of no surprise to Callan, but a shock to Marko, that he was soon offered a job as a retail assistant at a local hardware store.
“Despite going into each interview with little anticipation of progressing to the next, Marko passed a phone interview, group interview and panel interview to secure the role,” said Callan.
“Marko has an excellent attitude and always strives to do his best. He has been awesome to work with.”
