Workforce Australia client, Meredith had never needed to work with an Employment Services Provider before.

When she found herself unemployed, she was connected with atWork Australia’s Drysdale, VIC office for support to find employment.

Being new to the program, she was unsure about what to expect, and had limited understanding of the Points Based Activation System (PBAS).

During her initial appointment, Meredith was connected to Preet who supported her to learn about Workforce Australia and introduced her to some upcoming pre-employment programs.

This included helping Meredith download the Workforce Australia app, and showing her how to upload job searches into the app.

Meredith was ready to start her journey back to employment, so she was referred to the Jobs Now program so she could update her resume and learn about the recent changes to the job searching market.

At 53 years old, so much had changed since the last time Meredith had to look for work, and she appreciated the knowledge gained in this activity.

She then participated in Money Minded, a financial education course which she found useful as she navigated this time of unemployment.

Preet then connected Meredith with local organisation called Groomed to Go who support clients with interview clothing. Being dressed well helps clients to feel confident as they go into interviews.

After only two weeks with atWork Australia, Meredith is about to attend an interview with a local employer and was supported with a fuel voucher to attend that interview.
