Naomi connected with atWork Australia’s Disability Employment Services at Bateman’s Bay back in 2020.
She was connected to her Job Coach, Megan, who worked with Naomi to find sustainable employment she enjoyed.
Naomi is now a proud casual employee at the family run local McDonalds store, confident and happy to have overcome her barriers to find this role.
Naomi lives with hearing loss and psoriasis which affects her entire body.
In the past two years with atWork Australia, she has been busy upskilling herself working on her RSA and gaining experience and qualifications.
She needed atWork Australia’s help to obtain a copy of her birth certificate so she could have the identification needed to start employment.
atWork Australia also supported Naomi purchase work related clothing and supported her to develop her resume.
Over the years, she was successful with a few opportunities but found the work hours weren’t helping her achieve her goals. So, she often found herself calling on Job Coach Megan for additional support.
“Naomi was always enthusiastic about finding work. She was eager, always contactable and never gave up,” said Megan.
“She had the biggest grin on her face when she found out about her first shift. She was excited but nervous.”
