ParentsNext, atWork Australia’s dedicated service in Perth’s south to assist eligible parents become job ready, will be extended for a further three years. Funded by the Federal Government, this service is aimed at helping eligible parents of children aged six months to 5 years plan and prepare for employment by the time their children starts school.
atWork Australia initially were awarded a ParentsNext contract in July 2018 to provide specialist pre-employment services in Perth’s south until 30 June 2021. This service provision has now been extended until June 2024.
The extension announcement was recently made by Senator the Hon Michaelia Cash, the Minister for Employment, Skills, Small and Family Business, who atWork Australia have continued to keep up to date about the progress of ParentsNext and sharing good news stories.
Since ParentsNext expanded nationally in July 2018, more than 133,000 parents and carers have been assisted in the program. Over 56,000 parents and carers have commenced education and more than 27,000 gained employment. The contract extension applies to all existing ParentsNext providers nationally.
