Zak (28) is living with anxiety, depression and experienced cultural exclusion and limited self-confidence. He was willing to start his employment journey.
Zak reached out to MBC Employment Services in Nowra where he met Employment Consultant Effie. Effie worked with Zac and supported him with coaching, financial support, interview clothing and work clothing to take part in a Productivity Bootcamp. This Bootcamp offers experience in different trades and assists with obtaining any tickets and building resumes, interview skills, time management and much more. This allows people like Zac in securing sustainable employment.
Zak enjoyed completing the Productivity Bootcamp and demonstrated a high level of commitment to his project, for which he was nominated for displaying golden criteria (being respectful, positive energy, motivating others, reliability and task feedback implementation). Zak was awarded the Ox Tools Golden Saw Award with an Apprenticeship tool kit. He graduated and secured a full time Apprenticeship as a Metal Fabricator.
Effie also assisted Zac to obtain his Aboriginal Heritage Authentication.
When Zak got to know the exciting news, he was: “very grateful and proud of himself.”
Effie says: “This was life changing for Zak and he is a changed person.”

The MBC team at Nowra would give Zak positive feedback and guidance and make regular visits to the Bootcamp to touch base with the organisers and participants to ensure everything was ok.
Zak’s employer is looking forward to working with him and appreciates his positive attitude.
