atWork Australia have released a research paper on Long Term Unemployment (LTU), outlining the barriers to employment for this group, as well as the optimum methods and strategies to assist these people looking for work in overcoming these barriers.
Entitled ‘Long term unemployed: barriers and approaches to optimising return to work outcomes. A snapshot review of the global literature’, this global literature review undertaken in partnership with Monash University provided atWork Australia with a current snapshot and understanding of international best practice in managing long term unemployed. It highlighted the urgency for these individuals to be well supported with relevant services to maximise their chances of being placed into employment.
