When Timothy met his Job Coach, Jack, he shared that he had been unemployed for a long period of time. He had physical limitations and limited transport options, which would restrict his employment options. The pair began discussing Timothy’s employment goals. In conversation, Timothy mentioned he had been studying Community Services. Jack encouraged him to continue with his studies. After this encouragement, he completed his Certificate 3 in Community Services. In preparation to start applying for jobs, Jack helped Timothy update his resume to reflect his new qualifications and drafted a suitable cover letter.
Additionally, Jack referred Timothy to atWork Australia’s in-house Allied Health Services, where he could get support from a professional Wellness Advisor.
Jack began supporting Timothy in applying for jobs. Jack contacted employers on his behalf, enquiring about any available positions and sharing details of Timothy’s skill set. Through their combined efforts, Timothy soon secured a new position as a Support Worker.
