Bahie is a widow and a single mother who has an experience of severe depression as well as chronic back pain, which affects both her legs. The combination of barriers has exacerbated several other health concerns.

When Bahie first commenced with atWork Australia’s Bankstown office, it was clear to staff that she had a negative mental attitude toward work and life in general. Having had little to no skills or work experience only added to her challenges.

atWork Australia staff assisted Bahie in finding a job and referred her to a business course with a view to her starting her own business however, influenced by the unpredictability of COVID-19 lockdowns with the addition of a concern for her own health, she felt she needed to revise her plans.

However, with limited work goals and employment history, accompanied by chronic pain, episodic mood fluctuations and limited physical barriers, atWork Australia staff had to draw their focus on keeping her spirits up.

Eventually, Bahie agreed to enrol into a Certificate III in Business course with constant reassurance from her Job Coach Hani that this was an opportunity that would provide for her with better opportunities and immeasurable benefits for her future.

Since Bahie commenced with atWork Australia, she has improved her skills, her communication and she now looks forward to the opportunity of achieving something truly positive in her life.

Her Job Coach Hani said, “Bahie was very excited with the opportunity we gave her and thanked us for our determination to place her in a role. “

Bahie is still working and is now extremely happy and content with what she has achieved so far.

Job Coach Hani added, “Getting Bahie employed was a good thing for her, it changed her mood to become more positive.”

Bahie has showed endless gratitude toward  her atWork Australia Job Coach Hani for the assistance, which was the catalyst for a new and positive chapter in her life.
