Workforce Australia client, Saowalak, entered the atWork Australia office uncertain of many things – her English skills, her confidence, and the validity of employment services.
Saowalak is a single parent with low self-esteem and confidence. Upon entering the atWork Australia office in Clarkson, WA, she required an interpreter. This interpreter allowed her to communicate efficiently with her Job Coach, Pamela.
Pamela, Saowalak and the interpreter worked together to devise a tailored job plan to get Saowalak where she wants to be. This job plan included attending the SEE program to develop her English skills. With high excitement levels, she commenced in this course immediately.
Saowalak was also offered our in-house Wellness Services to improve her mental health. Financial assistance was also suggested.
Whilst completing her English course, Pamela began looking for suitable positions for Saowalak that catered to her parental responsibilities.
Since undertaking the SEE program, Saowalak’s English has improved dramatically, which has only improved her confidence levels. This confidence prompted her to gain part-time employment as a Cleaner, all on her own.
Months ago, Saowalak could not have envisioned working, let alone sourcing a position for herself with her newfound English skills.
After several months, Saowalak remains in this position. She enjoys working for a supportive employer that understands her parental responsibilities.
