Zachariah had always wanted to work in Information Technology (IT) and had specialised in cyber security. He had finished all his study, was qualified and ready to start work in this industry.

Zachariah had been applying for roles in this field for two years and was starting to give up hope as he hadn’t even gotten an interview.

He was connected to atWork Australia’s Workforce Australia program in Illawong, NSW. His Job Coach Amal identified he had needed office experience so a role in office work would be starting point which could lead to roles in IT.

Amal and Zachariah worked together to prepare for potential interviews including discussing how to present himself professionally and highlight his strengths and abilities.

Zachariah was interviewed by an atWork Australia Employer Engagement Consultant, for a few roles available.

Job coach Amal helped Zachariah practice putting his strengths and abilities forward and motivated him to be job ready for his interview with a potential employer.

After the practice interview, the team felt Zachariah was more confident at putting his best self forward and organised an interview with one of their employers.

atWork Australia supported Zachariah to purchase professional clothing to present himself at the interview as he did not have appropriate clothing for the interview.

Zachariah was ecstatic to learn he had finally landed an office role which he hopes will lead to an IT role in the future.

He said to Job Coach Amal he thought he was dreaming because he was so happy when the employer made the job offer.

Every year, atWork Australia helps thousands of clients like Zachariah expand their skills and qualifications to help them gain the right job with the right employer. Call us today on 1300 080 856 or enquire online to find out how we can help you meet your career goals.
