John has been an exceptional client of atWork Australia. He has recently celebrated a thirteen-week milestone in his new employment.
John came to atWork Australia’s Idalia, Queensland, office to find tailored support to help him find employment. John has experienced significant physical barriers, such as chronic pain in his shoulder and upper arm, among other health barriers.
John was introduced to his Job Coach, Sonia, who began supporting him to find employment. John was put forward to a new position and was successful in the recruitment process. Unfortunately, John was not suited to this position, due to a toxic workplace culture.
John was not going to let one bad experience keep him from participating in the workforce. He was still keen and eager to find a new job.
John was introduced to his new Job Coach, Peter, who is also atWork Australia’s Regional Manager. The two men are similar in age, Peter was easily able to connect with John and start coaching him immediately, to help prepare him for a return to the workforce.
John was eager to return to work and was accepting of Peters support and encouragement. The coaching was having a positive impact on John. Peter could see it beginning to change his heart and mind.
Peter connected John to atWork Australia’s Employer Engagement team, who quickly began searching for new opportunities for John. Soon enough, John was put forward for another position as a Vehicle Service Attendant. Peter was able to act as a referee and provided his recommendations to help John secure the position.
John has now been in his new position for thirteen weeks and is enjoying his new workplace. John said, “There is a lot of diversity in the workplace.
