For Workforce Australia client, Vincenzo, the tailored support shown by Job Coach, Filda and the broader atWork Australia team in North Perth, WA, has meant everything to him.
For several years, Vincenzo has had difficulty with gaining employment, which in turn, has affected his confidence. With convictions on his police clearance, this only added to his negative mindset on finding employment. Vincenzo also expressed his mental health contributed to his negative mindset towards finding secure, and stable employment.
In his initial appointment with Filda, the pair discussed his life, skills, goals, and previous work experience, all with the intention of creating a tailored job plan that would get him where he wanted to be, in employment.
As a key first step on this journey, he was enrolled in atWork Australia’s in-house Wellness program to assist on turning his negative mindset towards himself, into a positive one.
Whilst attending these appointments, he was also working on upskilling via participation in a cleaning course, attending the Powered by Positivium program and completing Ready Set Go.
Within no time, Vincenzo not only felt confident in his abilities, but was ready to take the next step on his journey, interviewing for positions. Filda assisted Vincenzo in obtaining his birth certificate, so that he could provide to employers, if requested.
After attending an interview with a local employer, Vincenzo was offered a casual position as a cleaner.
Vincenzo was thrilled and extremely excited to finally get back to work after all these years, despite all the nerves. He stated that he was eager to be a part of society again.
